Climate System Dynamics Lab
The Climate System Dynamics Lab studies the physical mechanisms of climate variability and change, with a particular focus on the atmosphere, ocean, and their interactions. Using observations, theory, and climate models, we aim to advance our understanding of the changing climate system and improve predictions of future climate. Our research particularly focuses on abrupt climate change and critical transitions, as well as irreversible climate change and the emergence of new climate phenomena under global warming. We also investigate the dynamics, predictability, future changes, and global impacts of large-scale climate variability, including El Niño and La Niña.
