포항공대 환경공학부 최원용 교수가 영국 International Biographic Center (IBC)가 발행하는 권위있는 인명사전인 "2000 Outstanding Intellectuals of the 21th Century"의 2004년 판에 등재된다. 또한 최교수는 IBC 사로부터 "International Scientist of the Year 2004"와 "21th Century Award for Achievement" 에도 같이 선정되었음을 통고받았다. 한편, 최교수는 Marquis사가 발행하는 "Who's Who in the World"에도 올해 등재되었다.
